Hello readers! I wanted to give a summer update and let you know about some sales!
My summer got off to a bit of a rocky start. Just when my kids finished homeschool for the year, my father-in-law became sick with sepsis in an artificial joint. Over the next six weeks, he had three hospital stays. After the final one, he came home on hospice care. He lived with us. With the addition of my sister-in-law who lives nearby, my husband and I were his primary caregivers. We were told an estimated one to two months, but he passed within a week. Subsequently, I have not had the time or motivation to write as I had hoped.
While my family is still recovering from our loss, we can see God’s hand in it. First of all, we had six months with him and could be with him round the clock in his final days. That would have been impossible if we had not moved in December. He had enough time to get his affairs in order. He was never a religious man, but we believe he really repented before his death. We are also very grateful that he did not suffer. He was always so independent, he would have hated that.
I had already enrolled my children in summer camp, so they were not home for every moment of stress during the day. It has also helped provide a routine for all of us to cling to. I am slowly getting back to writing and all my other author work (lots of editing and marketing).
In happier news, we are closing on our house very soon! There has been quite a bit of back and forth on it the entire year. I will be so happy to have it over with! We will begin renovations in the fall.

Christmas with Jane Series
| We are still planning a small get together with my sister-in-law and the cousins for Independence Day, and a little vacation later in the month for our family. What are your summer plans? Also, my sister-in-law gave me some tomato plants. I’ve always wanted a garden. However, we never owned and were always moving so it was impossible. I am thinking about adding to what she gave me. The information out there overwhelms me! Do you garden? Do you have any suggestions on what to plant and when? Until next time, Happy Reading, Rose |
