Are you guys as excited as I am to FINALLY be at this stage for A Letter in the Wind?
I haven’t released a Darcy and Lizzy book since December 2022, when Meet Me at Pemberley came out.
I so adore Darcy and Lizzy’s journey in A Letter in the Wind. This story started with a few scenes I wrote for pure enjoyment last Spring. We had some very windy days in my area. I could just picture Lizzy determinedly attempting to walk in it. One day, the image of a powerful gust tearing her bonnet off her head collided with a vision of the wind ripping a letter from her hand. Before I knew it, I had more than just a few scenes going. Darcy came onto the page, grumpy at the weather and resolutely against falling in love with Elizabeth. Along the way, they shared their stories with me. They showed me their scars and wounds. They pleaded for me to heal them, but I couldn’t. Instead, I showed them the One that could.
My last two releases, The Secrets of Donwell Abbey and Restored, are also in the Christian genre. Still, they weren’t intentionally planned that way. It unfolded in the writing process. Writing characters based on other Jane Austen books or my own creation took the intimidation out of writing JAFF in the Christian genre. I knew much earlier in the writing process that A Letter in the Wind would center on Jesus Christ healing their brokenness and restoring them. Still, it was so terrifying as I left my comfort zone behind.
Now, a year later, I’m so happy to share this story with others. I hope you will love it as much as I do. I hope it leaves your hearts feeling uplifted and knowing that you are unconditionally loved by the Savior. If you haven’t made Him your Lord, I pray this book speaks to your heart and tears down any complexes standing in the way. Come as you are to Him, and He will transform you.
Wounded by the past, bound by fear—can divine love restore their broken hearts?
Elizabeth Bennet has spent a lifetime believing she is unworthy of love. Overshadowed by the demands of propriety and the burden of protecting her sisters, she has learned to mask her pain behind wit and defiance. But one mistake—one betrayal—threatens to unravel everything she’s fought to hold together.
Fitzwilliam Darcy has vowed never to surrender his heart. Hardened by his parents’ bitter and loveless union, he believes romantic love is a dangerous illusion—a luxury the heir of Pemberley cannot afford. Yet when his actions strike at the very heart of Elizabeth’s fragile world, he is forced to face the cost of his pride and the depth of her hurt.
Bound by duty, divided by secrets, and scarred by the past, Elizabeth and Darcy are thrust into a collision of hearts. As truths surface and hidden wounds are exposed, they must confront the lies they’ve believed about themselves, about each other—and about love itself.
Only by surrendering their fear, forgiving the deepest of wounds, and turning to the Author of love can they find healing—and the courage to risk their hearts once more.
Will grace be enough to bridge the chasm between them? Or will their pasts destroy the future they were destined to share?
A Letter in the Wind will release May 15th!
