Thanks! The large part on the left is the garage but it is pretty big! The best parts, I think, are that I’ll have writing space again, kids will no longer share a room, and plenty of yard (with swing set) for them to play in. I am rather sad that I have to wait a few weeks to enjoy it!
The layout looks much like the home in which we lived when our children were born…but the outside façade is of different materials. Our master bedroom was above the garage, which had the family room with a fireplace behind it. The right side was the living room, with the dining room behind it on the right also and then with the kitchen and kitchenette area in the middle. There were four bedrooms with 2.5 bathrooms and one bedroom was my husband’s study. But our electric bills were very high with poor insulation and electric heat. We put an insert in the fireplace which blew the heat out and, of course, my husband had to chop many a log to keep that supplied. But we were on a cul-de-sac and there were many children in the development with whom our children played.
