Looks like the end of a storm as the sun is peaking through. I feel for those who have to rely on the weather to earn their living, i.e., farmers and fishermen, etc. With them one bad turn can spell disaster.
So true. Strangely, I read about this painting in a romance novel *after* I had posted it. In The Lure of a Rake by Christi Caldwell, she mentions this painting and the heroine points out that the fisherman is not alone, and that can change how you bear life amidst trials. It was so poignant. I highly recommend reading it!

I love Turner’s work. His use of light is remarkable. It does not seem like paint, but as if the works actually glow with real light.
